In order to activate full drive power on demand, the i5 feature a "Boost" shift paddle near the left steering wheel spoke. Pulling the paddle for more than 0.8 seconds triggers a Sport Boost indicator on the Information Display, indicating a high level of power requested by the accelerator pedal for maximum acceleration. Simultaneously, the Iconic Sounds Electric sound changes to SPORT. It enables extremely dynamic acceleration from standstill through precise coordination of the drive and traction control systems.
